If you are using a brand new organization on the Logidot dashboard, right after login you should be prompt to create a warehouse. Simple information is required, the name of your warehouse/unit, site, and timezone. The timezone selected here will impact the way that date/time information will be shown to you, so be sure to either set the locale timezone for your warehouse or the timezone that you prefer to see information in.
Logidot system configuration requires a 3 level entity setup. First, we create the organization, then the warehouse, and finally the floorplan. One organization can have one or many warehouses, one warehouse can have one or many floorplans. Later on, we can see how an account can access multiple organizations.
Setting up a floorplan requires more information than the warehouse setup. Firstly we require you to upload a floorplan image, normally this image would be a foreground representation of your warehouse (be aware that some devices, IOs based, may not display the map if the image is bigger than 5k pixels).
After you upload your image, the next step will be setting the floorplan scale, simply control-click into points of the image and tell us the real-world distance between them (in meters). This way we can calculate the scale to use to display your real environment on the map.
After this step, a working sensor installation is required for us to collect sensor location and draw your sensor map. This will be done by our technicians, and when ready the page should update automatically.
Once the installation is complete, we need to align sensors with our floorplan, to make sure that we display data in its right position on the map. For that, you can simply click and drag the sensors on the map, and/or rotate using control. Once the alignment is complete, just hit save.
Note that correct sensor alignment with the floorplan image is necessary so that our maps and reports display data correctly. Make sure to be precise.
So we are able to place your floorplan on the world map, we need to collect two point-coordinate relations. To increase precision, please pick the two most distant points of your floorplan and indicate their geo-position by clicking on their position in the map (and filling the popup that should appear).
There are two types of boundary in the Logidot dashboard, exterior boundaries indicate where our stream analysis should consider data out-of-range, and interior boundaries (or just boundaries) indicate the threshold where the system should expect to stop collecting UWB data and switch to GPS if enabled.
Boundary information is also used by our simulator to determine indoor and outdoor spaces.
Warehouse operations happen in different places with different forms. So our analytics and reports can determine what activities go on in certain places, and for you to be able to get analytics for different sections and activity sections of your operation, you can define zones. It’s not required to have zones (nor boundaries) but they will help our services contextualize data.
There are multiple types of zones pre-defined, as required for our service to contextualize it. To create a zone, click and drag on the map, drawing the shape of the zone that you want to create, then, simply input a name, pick the type, and if you wish, personalize its color. You can draw zones that conflict in space, however, be aware that this may cause data to be shown in both zones in our reports/plots and maps.
As for boundaries, is not required to define obstacles. However, if a wall is in between operation zones or if a large obstacle exists in the center of your operations, our system needs to be aware of it, to be able to account for it in simulations, for instance. Same as boundaries and zone creation, control-click and drag to draw the feature, select a type and give it a name so you can easily identify it later on in the map.
Another nonrequired definition is the rack position. This will mainly serve for our simulator to place your stock and be able to generate item positions.
Lastly, you can define landmarks, special places, or items that you may want to have reflected on the map. It’s totally up to you what you consider a landmark.
